This time-lapse demonstrates how a redbud tree was growing from a seed to a young plant. We encountered a redbud tree with lots of pods in the neighborhood park last fall. To see if they would grow, we extracted seeds from one of the pod, wrapped them with a moist paper towel and chilled them in the fridge. After about 2 months of cold-stratification, one seed was chosen to be sown in a pot. It took about 10 days for seedling and the first leaf to show up. The plant has been going strong ever since.
