Desert #walnutwood is a rare #tonewood (for #guitar and #oud) with unique characteristics, different from those of mountain walnut.
Its color is usually warmer than regular walnuts, some times with black veins that make walnut wood's appearance so attractive.
When it be cutted radial sawn(quarter sawn), beautiful ray flakes(silk ray or medullary rays) will be visible.
Another attractive visual aspect is curl or flame, because of usual straight fibers of desert walnut trunks, curl occurs less often, but in some cases flamed desert walnuts can be really eye catching! Deep and intense curl.
Its density range is really wide, as low as 0.5-0.6 gr/cc those we are using for guitar neck and as high as above 0.7 gr,cc those we using for guitar tone wood, i.e. back and side.
