Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) partnered with the National Park Service to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the first military burials at ANC on May 13, 1864. We are also commemorating the 160th anniversary of the Battle of the Wilderness, fought from May 5 to 7, 1864. Many of the first burials at Arlington were service members who were wounded in the Wilderness.
