Today, Teacher Becky teaches you how to talk about one of the world's favorite snacks: ice cream!

冰淇淋 (bīngqílín)
冰 (bīng) = ice

Bīngqílín hěn hǎo chī.
冰淇淋很好吃.
Ice cream is delicious.

Nǐ xǐhuān bīngjīlíng ma?
你喜欢冰淇淋吗？
Do you like ice cream?

The most common forms of ice cream are:

甜筒 (tián tǒng) = ice cream cone
甜 (tián) = sweet

圣代 (shèngdài) = sundae
As you may be able to tell, 圣代 (shèngdài) is the transliteration of "sundae" from English to Chinese.

Of course, if you'd like to order ice cream, you must also let the store know the flavor you'd like.

味 (wèi) = flavor
味 (wèi) is short for "口味 (kǒuwèi)"
"口味 (kǒu)" = mouth

草莓味 (cǎoméi wèi) = strawberry flavor

冰淇淋蛋糕 (bīngqílín dàngāo) = ice cream cake
蛋 (dàn) = egg
蛋糕 (dàngāo) = cake
