Follow me on my journey renovating my old semi detached house in the North of England UK. I love DIY and will try my hand at anything. DIY GARDEN PLANTERS | HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN RAISED FLOWER BED PLANTER

Today I'm showing you how to make your own garden flower planters. It's a really easy DIY project that can be completed in no time at all to give your garden a makeover.

You'll need -

Timber for the outside of the planter and the base (decking boards/gravel boards/pallets/feather boards)
Sawn Timber for the posts
Weed control fabric, coco liners or plastic bags (if using plastic make sure to make drainage holes!)
Trellis if desired

Hand or electric saw (or get your timber pre cut to size in store)
Drill/Driver
Staple gun or pins
Tape Measure, pen or pencil
Decking screws
Wood drill bits
Wood Stain
Scissors
Gloves and goggles for protection!

If you want to make the exact size as shown in the video follow these measurements - note these will only work for 120mm/12cm wide Decking boards

4 x side panels (30cm/ 300mm)
4x front and back panels (60cm/600mm)
4x corner posts (24cm /240mm)
3 x feet/legs (34cm /340mm)
2 x base (55cm/550mm)

Method

Remember to drill pilot holes before screwing into timber

1. Cut all timber to size
2. Fix corner posts to side panels using decking screws
3. Fit front and back panels to corner posts using decking screws
4. Fit 2 outer feet - countersinking holes so decking screws are not exposed
5. Fit base screwing decking screws into fit
6. Fit final legs if required - screw decking screws through the base into the feet
7. Wood Stain
8. Weed fabric/coco liner
9. Add trellis
10. Locate and fill with soil and plants
