Toyota Corolla Sedan (2023) has the 5th generation hybrid system with 1.8 l petrol engine and set of two electric motors (inside the e-CVT transmission). System power: 103 kW (140 HP), with front wheel drive (FWD), e-CVT. WLTP homologation figures: 4.4 - 4.7 l/100 km (WLTP) [53.5-50.1 mpg US | 64.2-60.1 mpg UK].

I checked Toyota Corolla Sedan 2023 1.8l Hybrid (European version) on a trip with city driving, and country roads (sub-urban), also on highway. Finally I achieved on ~45 km (~30 mi) distance such fuel consumption (economy): 3.3 l/100 km (71.3 mpg US / 85.6 mpg UK). The new Corolla has the improved recuperation system which higher the charging power on tight corners automatically (the same behavior behind the slower car). See, how it works!
