In a turn of events, Chime literally JUST added cashback to their debit card. This cashback is entirely for groceries, gas and restaurants. But it is useful cashback!

Basically the cashback can be earned by activating a deal which is then available for 4 hours. When a purchase has been made by using the physical debit card, cashback is added to the account within 10 days.

I pulled up the app to see what was available in my area of central Ohio and there's a lot! Tons of gas stations that offer cashback. Most of them are $0.20 to $0.40 off per gallon of gas which is significant. There's also a few restaurants available (mostly Tacobell with 11-12% cashback) and even some grocery stores with 13% back on groceries.

Chime has some other great features like zero fees, tons of free ATMs, sending checks through the app, paying bills, even paying friends similar to Venmo or Cashapp.
