The AKG Perception 420 uses a clone of the u87 circuit, but it doesn’t quite sound like an 87. KingKorg over at GroupDIY posted a one capacitor mod of the AKG Perception 200 and 400 series mics a while back that fixes it. It was time to give it a shot.
