Wonder how to preserve oil pastel works and avoid smudging your finished piece? This week I'm trying Liquitex Matte Varnish on several oil pastel paintings.

It is a non-removable permanent varnish that dries to a flexible, non-tacky, hard surface. In my little experiment, it works well on watercolor paper and Pastelmat paper.
