For years I daydreamed about quitting my job and travelling the world for an indefinite amount of time. Eventually, I went for it, handed in my notice and cycled off into the distance. 18 months later I returned to the UK. I was broke, alone and drinking far too much.

I went on an adventure in search of purpose and to challenge myself but came home feeling emptier than before I set off.

Three years after returning from that journey, I share my thoughts on how to build a life of adventure without having to quit everything and sail off over the horizon.
