Michael Kenna was born in north west England in 1953. At an early age he found interest in his surroundings spending time alone as he says “living in his imagination” at the park, railway station and the church.

Kenna has since forged a photographic style that embraces a Buddhist level of patience and simplicity. He's one of the more important contemporary photographers as he represents a new school of landscape photography, building on the Ansel Adams tradition but with a new life.
