GLOSSARY:
1 – Şekil A (Figure A): In school textbooks and other certain documents, it is common to see remarks such as “As seen in Figure A”. This remark has become a popular slang in Turkish spoken language, often used to bring attention to something we want to show or demonstrate.

2 – Şefim (My Chef): In Turkish, we use the possessive suffix when we address people in certain professions. These include: Teachers (Hocam or Öğretmenim), Chefs (Şefim), Police officers (Komiserim) and military commanders (Komutanım). Note that this is NOT the case for all professions.

3 – Tüketmek (Consume): In Turkish, this is a slightly more formal way of saying “eat”, similar to “Consume” in English, although it is more commonly used in daily speech than in English.
