Skároš, ktorý sa nachádza asi 20 km južne od Košíc bezprostredne pri maďarskej hranici, je veľmi stará dedina. Spomína sa už v roku 1270 pri opise hraníc panstva hradu Füzér ako zem Skároš. Zmienka vznikla na základe opisu hraníc panstva patriaceho pod hrad, pretože zem Skároš sa nachádzala na hranici a patrila už Mikulášovi, synovi Abu. Tento pochádzal z tzv. nádoštskej vetvy rodu Aba. Druhú písomnú zmienku poznáme z roku 1327, keď sa Skároš uvádza pri opise zeme Kalša, s ktorou tiež susedil.
