Legs

1. Start with your right foot forward. Raise your right foot, then lower it. Raise your left foot. When you lower it to the floor, raise your right foot again.

2. Stretch your right leg to the right and pivot the foot to the left, then step down with it. Raise your left foot and pass it behind your right leg, bringing it down behind your right foot, crossing your legs.

3. Lift your right foot and step it down to the right, uncrossing your legs.

4. Now, your left foot should be forward. Raise your left foot, then lower it. Raise your right foot. When you lower it to the floor, raise your left foot again.

5. Stretch your left leg to the left and pivot the foot to the right. Raise your right foot and pass it behind your left leg, bringing it down behind your left foot.

6. Lift your left foot and step it down to the left, uncrossing your legs.

Adding the Arms

1. When you raise your right foot, raise your left forearm to a diagonal angle, bent at the elbow, hand in a fist. When you lower the foot and raise your left foot, lower your left arm and raise your right forearm to a diagonal angle, bent at the elbow, hand in a fist. When you raise your right foot again, raise your left forearm again.

2. When you stretch your right leg to the right with the step down, wave your right forearm across your chest. Your forearm should be held horizontally. This motion is similar to the previous arm motions, only it's done across your chest instead of just out in front of it. When crossing your legs, lower your right forearm and start to raise your left one.

3. When you move your right foot to uncross your legs, wave your left forearm across your chest.

4. When you raise your left foot, raise your right forearm like you did in step one. When you lower the foot and raise your right foot, lower your right forearm and raise your left forearm. When you raise your left foot again, raise your right forearm again.

5. When your stretch your left leg to the left with the step down, wave your left forearm across your chest like you did in step three. When crossing your legs, lower your right forearm and start to raise your left one.

6. When you move your left foot to uncross your legs, wave your right forearm across your chest like you did in step two.

When you've added the arms, you'll be doing the full cabbage patch move.

Hop Variation 

In this variation, you'll using hops to replace steps one, two, five and six of the leg movements.

1. Instead of stretching your foot, pivoting it and stepping down, ending up in a new location, do a hop directly to that location, pivoting your body in the air.

2. Instead of the leg cross, which would bring you to the next location, hop again to bring yourself to that location, pivoting again.

3. Instead of uncrossing your legs (which are already uncrossed), hop again while pivoting again, bringing you to the final location.

Combination

After you've practiced these moves, try this combination: cabbage patch right, cabbage patch left, hop variation right, hop variation left.
