Why did Buddha not believe in a creator god ?

Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha, did not believe in a creator god for several reasons. -

Emphasizing Self-Reliance. - Buddha emphasizes personal responsibility and the power of individual effort to overcome suffering. A creator god would contradict this emphasis on self-reliance.
