The film 'NYAD', one of Netflix's big bets to explore the biographical genre, has been streaming on Netflix since November 3, with three acting greats in the lead roles, Annette Bening, Jodie Foster and Rhys Ifans.

This feature film brings to the screen the adaptation of the autobiographical book “Find a Way”, written by American journalist and swimmer Diana Nyad.

In this “biopic” Anette Bening plays Nyad, the American long-distance swimmer who, at 60 years old, and 30 after abandoning this discipline to pursue a career as a sports journalist, becomes obsessed with returning and accomplishing the feat that had eluded her. : “the Everest of swimming.”

It's the nearly 180km swim from Cuba to Florida, and determined to be the first person to swim without the protection of a shark cage, Nyad embarks on an exciting four-year adventure with her great friend and coach Bonnie Stoll (Jodie Foster) and a totally dedicated team.

The film recently premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, Canada, where the filmmakers told the press that Benning worked hard to star in the film and could earn him another Oscar nomination.

'NYAD' is directed by Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi and Jimmy Chin, and in addition to Jodie Foster also stars Rhys Ifans and Ethan Jones Romero, among other artists.
