The world is changing and so should we! From an educator's perspective on the impact of environmental education programs on his students, Rob Wilder makes a case for environmental education being incorporated more broadly in schools. Sharing examples like the wetlands where cranberries grow, Mr. Wilder shows the things he has learned from engaging in environmental education just like his students. Rob Wilder is a retired High School science educator who taught for 33 years. Mr. Wilder established the Envirothon program at Spartanburg High School in 1999 and still serves as the team's advisor. Growing up and living in Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Wilder loved the outdoors and wanted to provide his students with some of the same opportunities he had through using a hands-on approach to environmental education and establishing Envirothon. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
