The plot centers on a group of Soviet intelligence officers who penetrate the enemy's rear somewhere on the outskirts of the western border of the USSR and Germany. The intelligence officers are given an important task, the fulfillment of which can affect the entire military situation. But the young guys, who have not yet gained much experience in conducting military operations, will have to overcome themselves and make an important choice, because the price of the mission may be too high for them
