Watching LUUKHANYO spitting his densely-packed bars, backed by his extremely tight band the Hii ROLLERS, you feel that you are in the presence of one of South Africa’s future rap stars. Dressed in white and wearing sunglasses, the Hii ROLLERS exude cool. Their opening song, "Open Casket", shows off a tight and decisive arrangement that supports verses full of wordplay and a syncopated hook. The song is topped off by a clean-toned solo by guitarist Keanon MacCurry.

Their second song - an exciting live arrangement of LUUKHANYO's hit single “Hii ROLLER” (from which the band gets its name) - starts with a finger-snapping shaker groove, and breaks into a guitar-driven beat that supports the song's catchy chorus. The medley explores new territory toward the end, with a new halftime verse that shows off the Hii ROLLERS' ability to build and hold musical tension.

Their last song, "Wanderlust", shows of the band’s jazz chops, with an uptempo swing groove that makes a platform for LUUKHANYO’s final verse, and a solo duel between Blessing Biyandu’s keyboard and Keanon's guitar. With a setup similar to Anderson .Paak and the Free Nationals, and a flow sometimes reminiscent of South African legends Tumi and the Volume, it is clear that this brand of band-backed hip hop has potential to go far.
