New White Snake Legend (1992) was popular in Indonesia in 90s. It was shown in local TV (SCTV) around 1994.

It was musical and the song I played was the one I remembered from the boat scene. Actually some notes was re-used several times during the series.

The story was about a white snake wanted to repay a child kindness and she found the soul of the child had reincarnated into a young man. The young man wanted to be a medicine man so the white snake lady turned into beautiful woman helped the young man to reach his dream to have his own drugstore. She even married the young man to accompany him operate the drugstore. Unfortunately, a Buddhist priest believed such marriage was blasphemous

Actress Angie Chiu played as the white snake lady while actress Cecilia Yip played as the young man (Xu Xian -- but in our local TV was dub into Xu Hanwen).
