President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump debate on June 27, 2024, almost four years after the two presidential candidates did so ahead of the 2020 election. At one point, the discussion turned to Trump's felony convictions and claims that Biden himself was a criminal, too. Biden shot back by calling the suggestion "outrageous" and referenced Trump's ties to Stormy Daniels.

The first debate between the two candidates in 2020 for president notably feisty, with both candidates consistently interrupting each other, the second debate was canceled because Trump refused to participate remotely after being diagnosed with COVID-19, and the third debate was more tempered than the first, as the candidates discussed the response to the pandemic and racism in the country.

This year, the two candidates abandoned the Commission on Presidential Debates and agreed to earlier debates. CNN will be hosting the presidential first face-off from their Atlanta studios, and the candidates' microphones will be muted outside of their turn to speak.
