Manistee, Michigan is one of those lucky places that stakes a claim on Lake Michigan, with miles of sandy shoreline. It’s also a place rich in history – and old, turn-of-the-century brick buildings to go with it. Manistee was born out of the lumber boom in the late 1800’s. As a result, beautiful historic buildings make up the backdrop for Manistee. Sandwiched between Lake Michigan and in the Huron-Manistee National Forest, Manistee has become an outdoor wonderland for both residents and visitors.
