Welcome back to Foundation Physical Therapy’s YouTube Channel. My name is Christian Compean I am a physical therapist fellowship trained in orthopedics. What we’re going to go through today is something called a dynamic hamstring walk or what we call a dynamic hamstring walk. It’s a very easy way to kind of wake up those hamstrings and get everything moving. It’s a part of our dynamic warm up series. Something you would do in succession with the other videos that we have in that series. It’s super simple. There are somethings that you have to pay attention to. Basically you’re going to put a lead leg out front. Keep your chest up. So one trick you can do is keep one hand on your chest and one hand on your belly button and make sure that these hands never start to come together or reach apart. They stay put. What I’m going to do is put my foot out there and pull my toes up and I’m going to kind of squat on this left side and go until I feel a stretch down the posterior chain down the back of this right leg. Then I’ll come up, I’ll take a step, step. I’ll do that same thing on the left side there. Come up. Step. Step. There. Doesn’t have to be really aggressive but that’s something you can pace out for a few feet. Again you’re going to put that leg out in front. Come down. Up. Kind of maintain two straight lines basically. Straight line here to the hip then from the hip to the shoulder. Come up. If you kind of round your back like this you’ll notice you’re feeling hardly anything in the hamstring and mostly everything up in here. Again an easy correction for this is one hand on your chest one hand on your belly button. Make sure those hands stay apart and parallel to each other. So very quick and easy way to warm up your hamstrings. If this was useful to you we urge you to subscribe and like. There’s going to be a lot of good content coming out. So enjoy
