For the last 25 years, the Suspect Entertainment team and I have worked on many films and TV shows. During this time, I’ve learned a lot and was able to help others turn their lives around, the same way my mentors helped me. I’ve become involved in various positions such as acting, writing, directing, producing, and more.

My journey wasn’t easy, and actually very comical too in how I managed to accomplish getting into this business. So, after reflecting on my life, I decided to write a TV dramedy series based on my Suspect Entertainment journey and how I managed to figure out ways to work within the entertainment industry. 

THE SERIES will be a half-hour, single-camera, dramedy based on my life and Suspect Entertainment.

The purpose of this campaign is to help the Suspect Entertainment team complete the remaining work that needs to be done. We just finished shooting the pilot and it’s “in the can”, but we still need your help. After the pilot is shot, there are still many more steps for completion. 

We are now in post-production and need to hire the editor and assistants, post-production sound, final mix, color correction, and more. I will be posting pictures of the “Behind the Scenes” of the shoot to show our team hard at work on very long days to get it to this point. We really need your support by selecting one of the pledges so you can join us in making this series a reality. 

We want to make it ourselves to keep it authentic.

PILOT STORY 
From the ‘hood to Hollywood. Manny Jimenez gets a second chance at a new life. He commits himself and his family to go legit and get a 9-to-5 job.

Being a high school dropout with a criminal record, Manny realizes that he doesn’t have many options when it comes to job hunting. With a new baby on the way and a pile of bills, it’s tempting to go back to the life of crime. With his pregnant girlfriend Connie’s encouragement, however, Manny refuses to go backward. 

Inspired by the real-life comeback stories of Robert Downey Jr. and Danny Trejo, Manny remembers his childhood dream – to work in the movies – HOLLYWOOD. So, with zero connections and no driver’s license, Manny has Connie drive him to film sets all over downtown LA and Hollywood. Rejection after rejection, Manny keeps going. 

This is a story about people helping and uplifting each other. 

Our goal is to raise $50,000. All of the funds raised will be used to pay for leftover costs from production and the upcoming stages of post-production; post-production supervisor, editor, color correction, sound mix, and more. 

This series will inspire HOPE in people that, no matter where you come from and how many painful experiences you’ve had, you can still make something of your life and leave a beautiful legacy.
