On August 29th, 2024, Eric Booth and Kelsie Ferin, researchers on the FEWscapes project at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, presented about the data they will use as model inputs to simulate the project's scenarios for food, energy, water, and ecosystem security in the Upper Mississippi River Basin to the year 2050. The model inputs include data on land use/land cover and nutrient inputs to agricultural land.

The research team developed the scenarios based on ideas and input from stakeholders in the region who are involved in implementing policies and programs related to food, energy, water, and ecosystem security. The scenarios reflect diverse perspectives on how food, energy, water, and ecosystem goals could be achieved by 2050.
