A two stage snow blower without the drive gear working is useless. Snow blowers always seem to act up while the blizzard is on your door step.

This turned out to be a quick (albeit inconvenient) fix. Simply prop the snow blower up so that you can access the bottom cover plate. Remove the plate, and if you find a broken bolt laying around you should be able to get back on the road in no time. Find or buy a replacement bolt (use a hardened bolt if possible) and line up the holes in the shaft and sprocket. Tighten the nut. Done.

Be careful working with tools, and don't try this with the snow blower running.
