The History: The brand new Snowridge ski resort opened in 1968 with a handful of runs, serviced by two t-bar lifts and a retro Alpine Lift doubel chair (one of two installed that season by the company). This chair was built on the now farside. ofFortress Mountain, originally opening up two intermediate runs on the back, with the the current frontside and backside still undeveloped. In time, the resort slowly grew, adding two new chairlifts a decade later and expanding with more runs. However, the Farside chair stayed much the same as it was in 1968. Unfortunately, Fortress closed in 2004, and this lift has not spun since then. It is. not currently in salvagable condition, like the other two chairlifts, and is planned to. be replaced in the future with a high-speed quad chairlift. But until then, this lift. is a very rare chairlift to find, as only a handful of these models exist in the world today.
