Presence and motion detection is integral to most smart homes. Usually PIRs and mmWave sensors are used for detecting presence but there are other ways too!

Using ESPHome and an ESP32, I explore car seat pressure sensors to determine whether someone is sitting on the sofa or not, which of course seamlessly integrates with Home Assistant.
