On a summer afternoon in late July, throngs of baseball fans in orange jerseys made their way along the Embarcadero, headed to hopefully see the Giants win at Oracle Park. One of those fans, however, wasn’t destined for a reserved seat in the stadium—instead, he headed straight for the salty waters of McCovey Cove.
Dave 'McCovey Cove Dave' Edlund is a ball hawker—someone who attends professional baseball games to try and collect as many souvenir balls from the game as possible.
