Cirian is on the California Commission on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs and its chair emeritus. He spoke for Gen. Tony Taguba who is spearheading a drive to raise $2 million to pay for replicas of the Congressional Gold Medal to be sent to Filipino World War II veterans.
