Grant Hanley has batted away questions around Scotland's critics after their 5-1 defeat to Germany last Friday evening.

The Euro hosts destroyed Steve Clarke's troops with only Antonio Rudiger's own goal softening the blow in any sort of way. It was a nightmare start to the group for the Scots who still harbour ambitions of qualifying with their games to come against Switzerland and Hungary.

England supporters, as their side beat Serbia last night, chanted from the stands: "Scotland get battered everywhere they go" in an attempt to rub salt in their Auld Enemy's wounds, but Hanley remained defiant.
