The Toffees' goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a gross mistake after a pass from James Tarkowski back, Son Heung-min robbed the goalkeeper and sent the ball into an empty net - 2:0. At the end of the first half, the visitors took two corners, Abdoulaye Doucoure made a dangerous attack from the second floor, but James Maddison knocked the ball off the line. After the break, Maddison took a corner from the left flank, Christian Romero outplayed his opponents in the air and headed the ball into the goal with a ricochet off the crossbar - 3:0. Tottenham managed a rapid counterattack, Micky van de Ven dragged the ball down the center and passed it to the left edge of the penalty area to Son, who shot Pickford from an acute angle - 4:0.
