பட்டீச்சரம் பட்டீசுவரர் கோயில் சம்பந்தர், அப்பர், சுந்தரர் பாடல் பெற்ற சிவாலயமாகும். இது தஞ்சை மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. காமதேனுவின் புதல்வியான பட்டி பூசித்த தலமென்பதும் சம்பந்தருக்கு இறைவன் முத்துப்பந்தல் அருளிய தலமென்பதும் நம்பிக்கை. தேவாரப் பாடல் பெற்ற தலங்களில் சோழ நாடு காவிரி தென்கரைத் தலங்களில் அமைந்துள்ள 23ஆவது சிவத்தலமாகும்.

பட்டீசுவரர் கோயிலில் கிழக்கு வாயில், தெற்கு வாயில், வடக்கு வாயில் ஆகிய மூன்று வாயில்கள் பயன்பாட்டில் உள்ளன. கிழக்கு வாயிலின் உள்ள இராசகோபுரத்தின் வழியே வந்தால் நந்தியைக் கடந்து உள்ளே பட்டீசுவரர் கோயிலுக்கு நேரடியாக வரலாம். உள்ளே செல்லும்போது இடது புறம் துர்க்கையம்மன் சன்னதி உள்ளது. தெற்கு வாயிலின் வழியே வந்தால் முதலில் கோயில் குளத்தைக் காணமுடியும். வடக்கு வாயிலின் வழியே இராச கோபுரத்தைக் கடந்து உள்ளே வந்தால் தஞ்சை நாயக்க மன்னர்களால் கட்டப்பட்ட கலைநயத்துடன் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள துர்க்கையம்மன் சன்னதியைக் காணமுடியும்.

Thenupuriswarar Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the god Shiva located in the holy village of Patteeswaram, Tamil Nadu, India. Shiva is worshiped as Thenupuriswarar, and is represented by the lingam. His consort Parvati is depicted as Nyanambikai. The presiding deity is revered in the 7th century Tamil Saiva canonical work, the Tevaram, written by Tamil saint poets known as the Nayanars and classified as Paadal Petra Sthalam. The temple is associated with the legend of Sambandar to whose view Nandi moved to have a direct view of the presiding deity. Muthupandal festival celebrated in the temple in associated with the legend.

The temple has six daily rituals at various times from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and four yearly festivals on its calendar. The Brahmotsavam festival is celebrated during the month of the Chittirai (April - May) is the most prominent festival.
