Over the past few weeks, the issue of alleged widespread cheating on the part of Major League pitchers has been brought to the spotlight by fans, writers, and players. Some of the top pitchers in the game have been accused of using substances ranging from sunscreen to glue in order to increase their spin rate.

While this is definitely a problem for MLB, it is not the first time pitchers have used foreign substances in order to gain an advantage over hitters. In this video, we'll dive into the history of pitch-doctoring in Major League Baseball, and if what's happening today is really so much worse than what pitchers did in the past.
