It was awesome to sail the Suez Canal. Muscat, the capital of Oman was a beautiful cultural experience. The exclusive beach on the small island of Sir Bani Yas was a great way to swim in the Persian Gulf.
Soon after we passed through the Red Sea and the strait of Bab el Mandeb the Houthi rebels in Yemen started hijacking and firing at ships passing by. MSC has since canceled cruises through this area, and started sending their ships the long way around Africa but without guests.
