Today we’re traveling to the island of Vieques in Puerto Rico and I’m going to be giving you all the best advice on what to do and where to go on this beautiful island!

First up comes getting there, which I advise taking the ferry as it’s less than $5 round trip- just make sure to book on the website EARLY, logging in at the beginning of the month and securing the time you want as soon as they drop.

Next up is getting around! First, if you’re driving to the ferry terminal, there is parking just past the ferry dock for about $10 a day and they provide a shuttle over to the dock. Then, we would recommend getting around Vieques by golf cart as the island isn’t too big. It does take longer but it’s a lot of fun to drive slower and see everything as you explore.

There are many airbnbs and some small inns to stay at mainly either in , close to the ferry or Esperanza on the south side. I’m sure there are also some beautifully situated in the mountains but we wanted to be able to walk for food too. Therefore, we stayed in Isabel II in a beautiful airbnb up a hill so we overlooked the water but could still walk to the ferry and town.

Now to the fun stuff! Let’s talk about food first. To be honest, there are not that many places to eat. But after researching these were what we went with and they were all delicious and affordable:

D’Frozz- Coffee and Ice Cream
Duffy’s- very affordable dinner option for food right across from the beach and a cute boardwalk out front
Rising Roost- great brunch option about a 10 min walk from the ferry terminal

And finally, onto the beautiful beaches. I’m going to list all the ones we went to here and star my favorites!

🌟Playa Escondida/ Playa la Plata
Blue Beach- Playa la Chiva
Pata Prieta Beach (Secret Beach)
Red Beach (Playa Caracas)
Playa Negra
🌟Playa Grande
Esperanza Beach
Mosquito Pier
Coco Beach (Sea Glass Beach)

Overall, Vieques is a beautiful island, but so is all of Puerto Rico. If you’re only visiting for a short time, I would stay on the mainland as there are a lot more options and things to do and delicious restaurants. But if you have more time, it’s worth a weekend to go and see!

💙 THANK YOU FOR WATCHING 💙

✨ Have a beautiful day,

🌸XO Becca
