It’s time for a grenadine showdown! For years I’ve used my homemade grenadine syrup behind the bar - so when I started receiving requests for store-bought grenadine recommendations, I knew it was time to sample some commercial brands side-by-side. I decided to do this in three rounds - on their own, in a Shirley Temple, and mixed into a simple cocktail with a full-flavored Jamaican rum and lime juice. I was surprised at how the bottles differed with each application!
