I see this song as a follow up to the 1972 hit "Use Me". The 'relationship' now takes a turn for the worse.

To this day, Bill says this song was not about his ex-wife actress Denise Nicholas. It's been said that this song was metaphoric about the excessive culture of Hollywood. However, the events that occurred before the break-up (whatever It was) gave this song an emotive edge.
