At 10pm Thursday evening 911 callers reported a fire along the side of a home in the 700 block of Avenue E North.

Crews arrived and knocked down a small exterior fire within minutes. The fire appeared to be out until smoke started pouring from a 2nd floor vent.

Firefighters went to work inside the home attacking the blaze from the interior before being called out due to concerns about the integrity of the floor.

They remained on scene for 5 hours working on hotspots

Neighbors say this is not the first fire at this address. The house was boarded up at the time of the fire.
