Joon-gi answers a fan’s question on how he prepared for the role. He went through a month-long audition process. What distinguished Joon-gi from the other contestants was his physical acting skills. He did the leg split to convince the director and co-stars that he was “It,” and got the final “OK.”

He says maybe some divine luck was on his side — but we all know the extra hard work he put in was what made it happen.

But when he finally landed the role of Gong Gil, the director instructed him to bring his physicality & masculinity under control.🤣 He perfected the role and the movie was made and when it finally came out — it received unheard-of levels of love in the history of Korean cinema at the time.
