North Sea Ferries introduced Norland onto their Hull UK to Rotterdam Netherlands route in 1974.
In 1982 / 1983 she was requestioned by the Ministry of Defence to operate as a troop ship in the Falklands.
In 1987 she was lengthened in Bremerhaven, Germany, and switched routes to operate from Hull to Zeebrugge owing to the introduction of the new Norsea and Norsun for the Rotterdam service.
In 2002 Norland was withdrawn from service.

This VHS footage was filmed on 19th February 2002, less than a week prior to her last ever sailing for P&O Ferries.

SNAV took possession of this fine vessel and renamed her SNAV Sicila.
Regrettably she was scrapped in 2010.

Apologies for the quality of this footage - it was filmed onto 8mm camcorder tape, transferred onto VHS and converted into digital for this YouTube channel; the aim being to create a legacy so future generations can [virtually] come aboard from the comfort of their own home.
