I've seen comments debating whether Tick and Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel are in cahoots and planned out this testimony together.

Fulton County Chief Deputy District Attorney Adriane Love asked Tick about that in her direct-examination.

I can safely say there is no way Steel would be stupid enough to flat-out tell Tick how to testify, including about the tattoos. If anything, Steel would tell Tick’s attorney, Kristi Gladden, about his explanations for the tattoos, then she would pass the message along to Tick. That way the only conversation Tick has about how to testify is protected by attorney-client privilege.
