Explanation on cut characters in order of importance:
-Mario/Fire Emblem Bloat
-Characters with no new games for 5 years / dead franchises
-Retro characters (only kept Duck Hunt)
-Characters from only one game
-Characters better as Assist Trophies, Pokeballs, or Alt Costumes
-Characters with bad games (Xenoblade, Kingdom Farts)
-Bad or Badly-represented characters
-Personal preferences (Keeping Snake, Mewtwo, K.Rool)
Exceptions granted for Ness, Captain Falcon, and Fox due to Smash recognizability. What is Smash Bros without the Falcon Punch or the Peanut Butter? Also Mii Fighters might as well return if Miis themselves return on the next Nintendo console.
Sephiroth, Ridley, Marx, the Koopalings, and Petey Pirahna work better as boss characters instead of playable. It's true!
