The selector pin that activates the micro switch to allow the key to be removed from the ignition was not working properly. This video explores that operation and offers a solution. The pin also rests on the release shoe that allows the shifter to be moved from park preventing that operation as well. This fixes that too. This is a mechanical solution and if your microswitches and release pin in the ignition are not working properly there may be other problems.
