奥松島には、旧日本海軍の震洋隊基地跡があります。戦時中に作られた狭い隧道を抜けると、そこにはたくさんの船の格納庫があります。
震洋隊とは船の特攻隊であり、多くの爆薬を積んで、敵の艦隊に体当たりする部隊です。
極秘事項として作戦が進められたこともあり、あまり詳しいことは分かっていないようです。
松島から遠くありませんので、足を延ばしてみるのもいいですよ。
海もきれいで、プライベートビーチの気分が味わえます。

Oku-Matsushima is home to the remains of the former Japanese Navy's Shinyo-tai base. After passing through a narrow tunnel built during the war, you will find many hangars of ships.
The Shinyo-tai was a KAMIKAZE of ships that carried a large amount of explosives to hit the enemy fleet.
The operation was carried out as a top-secret one, and not many details are known about it.
It is not far from Matsushima, so you may want to extend your visit.
The sea is beautiful and you can enjoy the feeling of a private beach.
