You can change change horsepower and torque in a cummins engine, a little bit, without changing parts. This video is to help assist with finding the correct ECM base calibration for that. Of course you do have to also make sure the trans will accept the new torque. Also this is pretty much for cummins dealers or distributors. As you have to have insite for one and two you have to be able to get a fleet calibration code from a distributor.

The best part is about the 2:55 mark in the video. This is where the magic happens. Its all magic though.

Learning how to find and save software from QSOL then extract it to the Calibration Workspace. Its not a easy task the first 3 times. The directions for doing this are made for a someone with advanced computer skills, which I lack. And to find the directions is a mystery as well.

One thing i forgot to mention in the video, sadly, is when you do determine what ECM base code to use. Clear the calibration workspace. Then download that ECM base code number from QSOL. When its extracted into the calibration workspace, you can then double click on it, check the box for the use a fleet cal code, and flash away.

You will have to update cummins with this as changing horsepower/torque will change the warranty for it. It is a hefty upcharge (around $1,000). But well worth it as if something goes wrong it will be denied warranty if cummins does not know about it.
