When Phoenix temperatures remain above 110 for months at a time, you lose about an inch of pool water per day due to evaporation. It needs to be topped up every few days, but I had a habit of forgetting the water was on and shutting it off too late. Too high a water level is almost as bad as too low a level. So I built a thing.
I ruined a few parts in the refinement process and had to buy them a 2nd time, but I probably didn't spend more than $50-60 on this for the valve, the pipe and fittings, plus a few hidden items that aren't shown in the video.
Granted, this isn't the fountain at the Bellagio, it's not meant to fill the pool, just add a minimal amount of water to maintain a constant level.
It may be crude and ugly, but it's effective. Just like the guy who built it 🤣
