Our hike out to the tidal island of Worm's Head at Rhossili in the beautiful Gower Peninsula of South Wales.
Luckily for us the tide is already out as we arrive mid morning. So we have at least a 4 hour window to safely cross the causeway and get back! Checking the tide times is very important to prevent being stranded on the island for 12 hours. Over the years people have drowned, trying to swim back across to the mainland due to dangerous currents. We won't be swimming back! So we set off and I eventually make it to the top of the outer head whilst my wife waits by the inner head. It's a photographers paradise here, but taking my camera slows me down because of the all fours scrambling needed in some areas of jagged rocks and mini crevices. All in all though, a fantastic hike out and back, in what must be one of the UK's most scenic places!
