Cute baby impalas in the Kruger park! Impalas are the most abundant antelope species in the Kruger park. Impalas are also the main prey species of many of the parks predators. Lion, leopard, cheetah and hyena will all take impalas as and when they can. If you are having a bad or "quiet" day in the park you can usually always count on seeing some impalas at least. Impala fawns are usually born before the rains in the South African summer so that there is abundant food for them as they grow. Thousands of impala fawns are born withing a few weeks ensuring that many survive the onslaught from predators and ensure the continuation of these wonderful antelope.
