On Tuesday, March 17, 2015, William & Mary's Black Law Students Association, in collaboration with William & Mary's Student Assembly, Center for Student Diversity, Lemon Project, and Office of Diversity and Equal Opportunity, hosted its annual symposium on race and the law. Topics discussed included themes, policies, and aspirations enumerated in Martin Luther King, Jr.'s final seminal masterpiece, "Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?" as well as pertinent contemporary racial justice issues including, but not limited to, racialized hyperpolicing and police brutality, mass incarceration and the prison industrial complex, the legacy and remnants of racial economic inequalities, employment discrimination, resistance to affirmative action programs, the school-to-prison pipeline, racism on college campuses, implicit biases or stereotypes, mircoaggressions, protest movements and social justice activism, and the importance of political education.
